Joan Retallack

Poet and essayist Joan Retallack is author of The Poethical Wager, How To Do Things With Words, AFTERRIMAGES, Memnoir, and an Artforum best book of 2010, Procedural Elegies / Western Civ Cont’d. The Supposium: Thought Experiments & Poethical Play in Difficult Timescame out (fall 2018) from Litmus Press. She has for decades written, composed, and textually enacted, in multiple genres, a poethics of “experimental” and “agonistic” feminism. Retallack is John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Professor Emerita of Humanities at Bard College.
