Joyce Mansour

Egyptian-French author Joyce Mansour (1928-1986) wrote sixteen books of poetry during her lifetime, in addition to plays and prose. Considered an important figure among the postwar surrealists, she was born in Bowden, England, and lived in Cairo, Egypt, before settling in Paris, France, in 1953. She lived and wrote for the majority of her life in Paris, until her death in 1986.
